Last night, St. Albans' High School student Clayton Stover bravely faced the Kanawha County Board of Education and asked them to change the diversity policy to include sexual orientation. With the help of Fairness WV, Stover made the case that an inclusive policy would aid in preventing some of the problems that occur with higher incident rates in LGBT youth including suicide, bullying and dropping out of school.
Senate Bill 238 will not make it to a full vote this session. The Daily Athenaeum was the first to recognize this in an editorial today, followed by Alison Knezevich of the Charleston Gazette who has a blog item on it. There will likely be more coverage tomorrow.

Fairness held an event in Morgantown yesterday to grow support for SB 238. WVU's Daily Athenaeum wrote about the event.
The Blue Moose Cafe will host a rally Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to
raise awareness for Senate Bill 238, which, if passed, will ban
discrimination based on sexual orientation.
