End Discrimination

Fairness West Virginia's top priority is to eliminate discrimination against all West Virginians, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Today, it is legal in West Virginia to fire someone, deny them housing, or refuse them access to public accommodations because they are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

Currently, 20 other states and the District of Columbia already have legal protections in place.

Why should you care?

Here in West Virginia, we believe individuals should be judged by hard work and honest living, and not by their personal lives or by ignorant stereotypes.

Fair employment and housing policies will:

  • Attract 21st Century businesses to our state creating new jobs.
  • Put out the "welcome mat" for tourists and visitors.
  • Most importantly, protect our sons and daughters, friends and coworkers, neighbors and good folks we have yet to meet, from discrimination.
